An internal investigation has been launched into three officers who shot and killed a WWII Veteran.

Three officers shot Price Robinson Perrin, 87, nine times after police watched him shoot his 82-year-old wife at their home Sunday.

Perrin was killed.

His wife, whose name has not been released, survived and remains in stable condition at a local hospital.

Police were called to the 1300 block of Maple Avenue on Sunday  in reference to a domestic disturbance.

Neighbors told Action 4 News the WWII veteran shot his wife in the back as she was walking away from the home, and the bullet exited through her chest.

Police claim she was shot in her chest.

Police on the scene asked Perrin to put down in weapon, but instead he open fire on police.

Harlingen PD told Action 4 one officer on the scene fired eight shots at 87-year-old Perrin. One of which fatally injured the man.

The motive for the shooting is not being released by investigators.

However, neighbors said the man was yelling 'I want my guns', and the wife said 'he didn't need them'.

The three officers involved were placed on admistrative leave as standard procedure pending the investigation.
