San Benito elementary school student rushed to hospital

An elementary school student is recovering at a local hospital after suffering from a medical emergency in San Benito.

It all happened at Sullivan Elementary School off Elizabeth Street around 3 p.m. Monday.

San Benito CISD officials said the first grade girl was with her parents when she collapsed.

A school nurse began administering emergency aid until paramedics arrived in an ambulance. 

The girl was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

School officials are waiting to receive an update on the child’s condition at this time.
