RGV -- It looks like 2013 will come in with a thud as temperatures drop like a rock and rain settle into the forecast for several days. The rain we need, the cold I am not so sure about.

An substantial cold front will plow south through the RGV Tuesday between 10a and Noon so the chance for showers and thunderstorms ahead of the front will start up about sunrise and last through the middle of the day. There should be a lull in any showers once the front passes but as nightfall approaches the chance for cold rain will start to crank up as moist air from Mexico surges east across the valley.

Cold, cloudy and drippy  through Thursday.
