Authorities are investigating a hit and run accident where a man hit a woman with his van and then fled the scene.

It all happened on the 2200 block of Lincoln Street just after 2 p.m. Saturday.

Investigators reported that a 30-year-old woman was hit by a van resulting in injuries to her abdomen and legs.

The driver of the van allegedly fled the scene but officers stopped it a couple blocks away on Avenida de la Plata.

The neighborhood is just north of the University of Texas at Brownsville campus and blocks away from the Gateway International Bridge.
