A Harlingen police officer now is on administrative leave following an alleged domestic disturbance with his live-in girlfriend.

Investigators told Action 4 News that the woman and Officer Jorge Guerrero, who was off-duty at that time, were arguing early Tuesday morning.

Guerrero allegedly sped off at a high rate of speed while she was in the bed of his pickup truck off North 27th Street and East Jackson Avenue.

The woman sustained a cut to her leg and pain to her back.

Guerrero remains on administrative leave and is expected to be charged with deadly conduct.
