Man soils himself, jailed after semi-nude crime spree

An elderly man is behind bars after he allegedly soiled himself and went on a mini-crime spree.

Port Isabel police arrested 69-year-old Walter Thomas Ellison on multiple criminal charges late Tuesday morning.

It all started inside the WalMart store off Highway 100 around 10:47 a.m. Tuesday.

Chief Gualberto Gonzalez said Ellison had soiled himself and came into the store to get a new pair of pants.

Ellison allegedly took off his pants in the middle of the men's clothing section prompting security to escort him out of the store semi-nude.

Chief Gonzalez said Ellison drove off but got into a fender bender while leaving the parking lot.

Ellison fled the scene and went to the nearby Cameron County Annex Building where to took off again and drove across the Queen Isabella Memorial Causeway to South Padre Island.

Police stopped him on the Island where they discovered he had a small amount of marijuana.

Officers charged Ellison with indecent exposure, DWI, accident involving damange and possession of marijuana.

Ellison remained in custody as of Thursday afternoon at the Cameron County Jail.
