Authorities are investigating an accident where a car hit a girl outside a football game in Weslaco.

It all happened off Westage Drive and Pike Boulevard just after 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Paramedics took the girl to the hospital for evaluation but did not appear to be seriously injured.

Investigators told Action 4 News that the girl and her family were jaywalking when they stepped in front of a four-door car.

Police said girl's family was headed to the Harlingen vs. Sharyland game at Bobby Lackey Stadium.

Light rain is falling at the stadium where hundreds have gathered for the game, which is expected to start at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Investigators said the driver is not expecting to face criminal charges.
