People on the East Coast are still dealing with the devastation Hurricane Sandy left behind.

Up to 32 shelters are open in the New York City and New Jersey area housing over 3,4000 people.

And now it’s the Rio Grande Valley’s turn to step up and make a difference.

Action 4 News is teaming with KURV 710 AM and local HEB stores to hold a special donation drive all day Wednesday.

The stores are accepting cash donations at their registers.

Cash donations can also be made at our TV studios in Harlingen or the American Red Cross.
