Tropical storm Isaac is forecast to become a category one hurricane as it nears Haiti. The storm should then rip across Cuba headed for the eastern Gulf of Mexico.

Folks in western Florida remain worried as they remain within the forecast fan for early next week.

The  forecast has moved farther west with each run the past two days so western Florida may be spared but anyone else from Pensacola  to Lake Charles might be getting nervous.

So far none of the major forecast models are bringing Isaac anywhere near the Rio Grande Valley.

The valley can expect more showers overnight and again Friday with no significant rain expected.
