East Texas residents got a surprise on Thursday morning after a 3.7-magnitude earthquake hit northeast of Nacogdoches.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey website, the quake happened just outside the town of Timpson, Texas around 10:15 a.m. Thursday.

The quake was felt in surrounding towns and cities including Nacogdoches and Lufkin.

No major damages or injuries were reported.

The quake is the latest is a series of small earthquakes to be reported in the Lone Star State.

Authorities confirmed a 4.8-magnitud earthquake outside Beeville back in October 2011.

Just two months earlier, a 4.4-magnitude earthquake hit southeast of Lubbock.

A 4.0-magnitude earthquake was confirmed outside the South Texas town of Alice back in April 2010.
