RGV -- Wow! Daytime high temperatures will be surging to near 100 degrees each day, the upper 90's in the lower valley and closer to 102° in the upper valley. Those high temps will be accompanied by a heat index near 110°.

High pressure will remain in control so rain is out of the question and clouds will  be at a premium through the end of the week and the up and coming weekend.

For the same time period the Rio Grande Valley will feel south to southeast winds blow in each afternoon from 15 to 25mph, call that breezy.

The tropical forecast is tranquil with several tropical waves between the Caribbean and the coast of Africa. The only one catching the eye of the National Hurricane Center is in the Central Atlantic and is not expected to threaten the US.
