Isaac forecast to Menace Gulf coast

Photo

RGV -- All eyes are on Tropical Storm Isaac as it continues to crank up tropical storm force winds while heading west near 20mph.

This storm is getting a lot of attention in the national media for 2 reasons: one, it is forecast to threaten the large population base of Florida including big cities like Miami and Tampa Bay; two, it also forecast to threaten the Republican National Convention starting early next week in Tampa .

Politics and population aside, Isaac is forecast to become a hurricane and enter the Gulf of Mexico. The Rio Grande Valley is not under any direct threat from Isaac as the forecast stands. None of the mainstream computer forecast models is bringing Isaac anywhere near Deep South Texas.

It is important to remember strange an unexplained things can happen with hurricane forecast tracks so we will be keeping an eye on Isaac and keeping you up to speed on it's development.
