With the current unemployment rate at 11.7 percent in the Rio Grande Valley, the job market isn't looking so good.

But there is one company is dusting off their “Help Wanted” sign.

Pittman and Davis is located in Harlingen company and ships fruit and dessert gifts for the holiday season.

Since putting up their "Now Hiring" sign, hundreds of have flocked in to fill out applications.

So far, the shipping company said they've seen almost 400 people since Monday and expect to finish up the week with more than 500 applicants.

The company hopes to hire 350 seasonal workers with a pay that starts at $7.25 an hour and promises lots of overtime.
