Rattlers 48, Cougars 7
Sharyland ran their record to 8-0 by utilizing multiple offensive schemes and playmakers, but the Rattlers 9th win of the year featured that as well as a smothering defense that held playoff-bound Edinburg North to a single touchdown.

Brownsville state representative Eddie Lucio III has filed a bill to the Texas legislature that would prohibit high school football programs state-wide from having more than one full contact practice per week on game weeks. Some local coaches think that bill is a very bad idea.

After 25 years coaching in the Donna football program, the past 5 seasons as Redskins head coach, Manny Moreno has resigned his position in order to become the new Donna ISD athletic director, not only overseeing Donna high school's sports programs, but those of the new Donna North high school as well, the Chiefs will open their doors next fall.
