UTPA tied it up at 5 in the top of the 7th, but former Harlingen South Hawk Logan Brown walked and scored the winning run for the Red Raiders in the bottom half of that inning, Pan-Am faces Southern Utah in Lubbock on Saturday. Willie Rueda had three hits for the Red Raiders (2-0) while Jeremy Mayo drove in three runs and Justin Berry drove in one more. Brian Cloud (1-0) pitched 2 1/3 innings of shutout baseball to get the win. Jose Mendoza had two hits and drove in two runs for the Broncs (0-1). Jordan Rutenbar, Nick Spears and Andrew Perez each drove in one run a piece. David DeLeon (0-1) gave up the losing run after getting only one batter out in the seventh. Meanwhile, UT-Brownsville baseball played their 1st road games of the season in Cedar Hill, texas. Brownsville Hanna alum Jorge Camorlinga went 5-for-5 and Scorpion teammates hit three home runs to lead UT-Brownsville to a 14-10 victory over Northwood University in the first game of a doubleheader at Knights Field. Northwood won the second game, 11-10, in six innings. The game was called because of darkness.
