A Brownsville man is behind bars after being accused of molesting a 10-year-old girl.

Brownsville police arrested Alvaro Garay on an indecency with a child by contact charge on Wednesday.

Investigators told Action 4 News that Garay is accused of inappropriately touching a 10-year-old girl.

The girl came forward with the allegations back on November 19th but Garay came to the police department to speak with detectives.

Garay allegedly gave a statement implicating himself in the crime and was placed under arrest.
