A Brownsville woman is facing criminal charges after her 2-year-old grandson was found wandering the streets wearing nothing but a diaper.

Brownsville police arrested 50-year-old Patricia Marie Ramirez on a child endangerment charge on Wednesday morning.

Investigators told Action 4 News that a woman found a 2-year-old boy wandering on the 2900 block of International Boulevard.

Despite the cool weather, the boy was barefoot and only wearing a diaper.

Police learned that the boy came from a home on the 1700 block of Wilson Street where officers found the front door open and Ramirez asleep in her bedroom.

Ramirez allegedy told police that her daughter dropped off the boy while taking her other children to school.

Officers turned the boy over to custody of his mother.

Ramirez appeared before a Brownsville Municipal Court judge where she was issued a $5,000 dollar bond.
