HIDALGO, TX -- The State Executive Committee of the University Interscholastic League
issued penalties to coaches and a school for violation of UIL rules on Monday.

Hidalgo Early College High School was issued a public reprimand and was placed on
probation for two years for violation of UIL rules. The State Executive Committee
suspended former Hidalgo Early College High School coach Arnold Martinez from
coaching at a UIL member school and requested that he appear before the committee before
the suspension may be lifted. Additionally, Hidalgo Early College High School coach
Monica Rodriguez was issued a public reprimand and placed on probation for one year.
