Leads Texas Southern To Victories
GREENVILLE, MS -- Weslaco graduate Kassandra Rivera led Texas Southern’s Lady Tigers golf team to two first place finishes while taking individual honors in both tournaments as well, and for her efforts was named TSU's athlete of the week.
TSU competed in the Valley Fall Shootout and the MVSU Valley Shootout Fall Classic at the Greenville Public Golf Course in Greenville, Mississippi on September 16th & 17th.
Texas Southern took first place in the Valley Fall Shootout with a 321 (+33) on the par 72, 5,800 yard course.
Rivera, who also played at Donna in high school, finished first in the field with an even par. Her teammates took places three through six.
On day two, the Lady Tigers competed in the MVSU Valley State Fall Classic on the same course but lengthened to 5,843 yards. Rivera was again first with a 2 under par 70, winning her 4th tournament in 2 seasons at TSU
