TCU men’s basketball has been selected to play in the 2012 South Padre Island Invitational along with seven other teams during Thanksgiving weekend on South Padre Island, Texas.
SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, TX --
The Horned Frogs will play two games at home in conjunction with the tournament prior to the final two rounds held Nov. 23 and 24 at the South Padre Island Convention Center. Joining TCU in the tournament field will be Delaware State, Farleigh Dickinson, Illinois State, Navy, Northwestern, Prairie View A&M and UAB.
TCU’s selection will mark its first appearance ever in the South Padre Island Invitational, which is preparing to host its event for the eighth consecutive year. The Frogs have played in an early-season tournament each of the last four years, including last season’s trip to the U.S. Virgin Islands for the annual Paradise Jam that featured an impressive victory over early-season national surprise Virginia.
