Golden Eagles Looking For 4th Head Coach In 8 Seasons
BROWNSVILLE, TX -- For the fourth time in eight years, Brownsville Hanna is looking for a head football coach.
Brownsville Hanna principal Teri Alarcon reassigned Golden Eagles Athletic Coordinator/Head Football Coach Tom Campos out of the Hanna athletic department Thursday.
Campos went 1-9 his first season at the helm at Hanna, 3-7 his second, but he will not get a third. Instead, Campos will serve the rest of his contract as an English teacher at Brownsville Lopez high school.
Campos was offensive coordinator at Hanna under then-coach Tom Chavez when the Eagles won the District 32-5A title in 2009, and was promoted when Chavez became Athletic Director for Brownsville ISD in 2010.
