Jaime Garcia Makes Return To Valley

MCALLEN, TX -- Jaime Garcia, pitcher for the World Series champion St. Louis Cardinals, spoke to students at McAllen’s Theodore Roosevelt Elementary on Wednesday, November 16. He shared a message about working hard to achieve dreams and his experiences growing up in the Valley and playing baseball. Garcia is from Reynosa, Mexico and graduated from high school in the Valley. Garcia, pictured posing with Roosevelt students, won 13 games for the Cardinals this past season. The lefthander also started two games in the World Series (both no-decisions), struck out 10 batters and had an earned-run average of 1.80. The Cardinals defeated the Texas Rangers in seven games to claim the World Series title.
