Texas-Pan American's Bianca Torre has been selected Great
EDINBURG, TX --
West Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week after an outstanding
performance last week, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Torre, a sophomore from Harlingen, Texas, led UTPA to a 2-1 record last week
while averaging 28 points on 52 percent shooting from the floor - including
12-of-26 from beyond the arc - and going 18 for 19 from the free throw
stripe. The guard led the Broncs in scoring in each of the three games while
setting a career-high in points with 32 in a win over North Texas before
topping that mark with 34 points in a 83-76 win over Texas State. Against
Texas State, Torre went 12-of-19 from the floor including 6-of-10 from
beyond the arc while posting eight assists and four rebounds. Torre
currently leads the GWC in scoring with 19.7 points per game.
