KINGSVILLE, TX -- Texas A&M-Kingsville senior place kicker Christian Brom (McAllen/McAllen HS) was named the Lone Star Conference South Division Special Teams Player of the Week on Monday for the second straight week.

Brom posted his second straight multi-field goal game of the season for the Javelinas.  After missing a 38-yarder at the beginning of the game, he bounced back with a 32-yard field goal to open the scoring against Tarleton State.  He kicked his first ever game-winning field goal when he drilled a 41-yarder with 21 seconds left to provide the margin of victory.

The 13-10 win over the Texans propelled Brom and the Javelinas to fifth in the American Football Coaches Association poll this week, the highest they have been ranked all year long.

The Javelinas moved up two spots in the poll after No. 3 California and No. 6 Hillsdale each lost last week.  The Hoggies are joined by three other LSC South teams in the poll.  Abilene Christian is third, West Texas A&M is 14th and Midwestern State is 22nd.

The Javelinas travel to Southwestern Oklahoma on Saturday for a 2 p.m. kickoff.
