Broncs Part Of 8-Team Field
SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, TX -- Texas-Pan American men's basketball and the South Padre Island Invitational Tournament had been like ships that pass in the night the past several years. Former Broncs Coach Tom Schuberth felt his teams got better experience in neutral sites game further from home, so the SPI tournament went without a visit from it's closest Division I program.
But now new head coach Ryan Marks is bringing Pan-Am back to the Island for one of the strongest fields in the tournament's history.
All games will take place over Thanksgiving weekend 2009 (Nov. 27-28). Here are the eight teams participating:
