A Kingsville woman is behind bars and facing federal charges after being accused of embezzling more than $30,000 dollars from a credit union.

U.S. Marshals arrested 37-year-old Maricella Garza in Englewood, Ohio on Friday.

Court records show that a federal grand jury in Corpus Christi indicted Garza back on January 9th.

Garza is accused of embezzling $30,555.55 from the Kingsville Community Federal Credit Union between August 2009 and July 2010.

The former bank employee remains in custody in Dayton, Ohio where she’s facing extradition to Corpus Christi.

If convicted, Garza faces up to 30 years in prison as well as a possible $1 million fine.
