Intoxicated 63-year-old woman strikes street corner with car

A 63-year-old woman was arrested after she was caught with non-prescription pills and drinking and driving.

San Benito Police pulled over Teresa Lugo Abrego after she struck a concrete corner of a Business 77 intersection.

When officers approached Abrego, a strong odor of alcohol emitted from her car.

A Standardized Field Sobreity Test was also performed. Abrego gave officers numerous clues of being intoxicated.

When the 63-year-old was taken into custody, officers found a pack of pills and two light pink half pills.

Abrego did not have a prescription for the pills.

Abrego was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Driving While Intoxicated.

Her bonds totaled $13,000.
