The animal turns up in the food serving area at the Stripes on 898 North Sam Houston in San Benito.
               
A kitchen cops takes photos of the rodent along with dead roaches in the restroom and mold around counter edges.
               
Demerits during the city inspection total 19 before they’re cut in half on a re-inspection.
               
The Food Patrol’s request to speak with management about the insect and rodent contamination has not yet been answered.
               
Despite the shocking finds at Stripes, El Nuevo Frontier on 1027 East Washington Street in Brownsville lands at number one on the list of dirtiest restaurants this week with 49 demerits.
