One of the sweetest parts of Valentine’s Day is the dessert. But, what if you’re watching what you eat? James Thompson with HEB Plus! visited Action 4 Sunrise to show us a few recipes that are flavorful and low in calories.
Wake N' Bake Cinnamon Sugar Croissants with Agave Caramel Sauce
1 tube HEB low fat crescent rolls
equal parts cinnamon and sugar
2 tablespoons melted butter
Agave Caramel Sauce as needed
Brush dough with butter then liberally sprinkle with cinnamon/sugar.
Roll up towards the narrow end and brush with butter before baking @375 for 15-20 minutes.
Top with warm caramel and serve.
Raspberry Mousse Parfait
1 3/4 cup raspberries
3 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons cornstarch
2 teaspoons fresh OJ
1 1/3 cups whipped cream
1 cup, cubed Angel Food Cake
Press raspberries through strainer; save juice.
In saucepan combine sugar, cornstarch, and juice.
Bring to boil and stir for 2 minutes until thickened.
Chill and divide in half.
Mix OJ in 1/2 juice mixture; whipped topping in other 1/2.
Place cake cubes in glass and top with spoonful of sauce followed by whipped cream.
Refrigerate until serving.
Guiltless Tiramisu
3 egg whites
1/4 cup powder sugar
1/2 cup whipped fat free cream cheese
1/2 cup strong coffee or espresso
7 oz ladyfingers
dark chocolate as needed
Dark Chocolate and Agave Fudge Sauce as needed
Beat whites with cake mixer until stiff peaks form; add sugar and gently fold into cream cheese.
Place small amount cream cheese in each glass.
Brush fingers liberally with coffee and place atop cream cheese.
Drizzle with fudge sauce.
Top with remaining cream cheese and finish with shaved dark chocolate.
