With nearly 3,000 in attendance for the Austin Toros School House Jam, the Toros lost at home, 118-106, to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. It was the Toros second loss at home this season.

AUSTIN, TX -- The Vipers took an early double digit lead, going up 17-6 with 8:24 left in the first quarter. The Toros shortened the lead, 20-16, by going on a 6-0 run but the Vipers would answer with an 8-0 and would end the quarter up 35-25.

The Toros began to chip away at the Vipers lead in the second quarter, with Malcolm Thomas hitting a mid-range shot to make the score 45-42 with 4:04 left in the half. Both teams battled in the paint, mainly shooting post-up lay ups and fighting for loose boards. The score was 60-54 at halftime.

The Vipers took over in the second half, creating turnovers and extending their lead. The Toros tried to mount a comeback in the fourth quarter but for every shot they made, the Vipers would counter with a shot of their own.

Five Toros scored in double figures, led by Lance Thomas with 22 points and nine rebounds, followed by Da'Sean Butler with 20 points. Tyren Johnson led the Vipers with 23 points, shooting 3-6 from beyond the arc. Seven Vipers scored in double figures.
