Harlingen police are investigating an accident between an SUV and a train.

It all happened off Altas Palmas Road and Business 83 around 4 p.m. Tuesday.

According to police, a woman headed south on Altas Palmas in a Nissan Armada SUV.

But investigators said she was parked too close to close to the rail line.

The railroad intersection does not have blinking lights or a rail crossing guard.

The woman told police that she did not hear the train.

Police said that the passing train tried to stop but ended up clipping and tearing off her bumper.

Investigators said that the driver was not injured.

The driver declined to comment at the scene but public records show the SUV is owned by a family off San Andres Court in Mission.
