The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees (22-25-7) fell against the Bloomington Blaze (19-27-6) by a 3-2 score on Saturday night. Dan Gendur and Craig Lineker scored the two Bees goals in the loss.

HIDALGO, TX -- The Blaze got on the board first at 2:16 into the first period as Jordy Trottier gave Bloomington an early lead of 1-0. The Blaze led for the rest of the period until 18:11 when Dan Gendur struck for the first Bees goal of the night. Gendur took the feed from Brandon Campos and tapped the puck into the net at the crease. Tomas Klempa also earned the assist.

The two teams went into the locker room tied at 1-1.

Bloomington was back in the lead early into the second period as Jason Dale got one past John Murray at 3:10 into the period. Jerry Pollastrone got another one for the Blaze later in the period at 12:52.

Aaron Lee came close to scoring one for the Bees in the second period, but Bloomington goaltender, Brian Mahoney-Wilson, caught the puck between his back and the top of the net, barely stopping the potential goal.

The Blaze held a two point advantage at the end of the second period, 3-1.

The Bees got one back at 8:09 into the third period when Craig Lineker fired the puck past Mahoney-Wilson from the point. Zac Pearson and Reid Edmondson earned the assists.

The rest of the period was spent trying to find the equalizer but Bloomington kept the Bees off the board.

The Killer Bees will be hosting the Laredo Bucks next
