The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees (17-16-6) fell to the Laredo Bucks (16-22-0) by a 1-0 final on Friday night. The sold out game made for an energized atmosphere at the State Farm Arena with a total of 5,211 fans. The game was sent into overtime after a continuous 0-0 tie through the three periods.
HIDALGO, TX --

The first period was quiet as both teams remained scoreless in a tough match-up.

The two teams saw a similar story for the second period as well. Both teams continued to remain scoreless going into the locker room as both Wylie Rogers for the Killer Bees and Torrie Jung for the Bucks made numerous quality saves.

The 0-0 tie remained through the third period as well with both defenses continuing to close the door on the opposite offense.

The game was then sent into overtime as neither team could find the upper hand in regulation. Matt Hanson secured the win for Laredo on the power-play when he fired one from the point that got past Wylie Rogers.

Rogers had 35 saves in the net.
