BROWNSVILLE, TX -- It was a "Good Time" one more time.

About 200 people celebrated with the UTB/TSC volleyball team, which captured the 2011 NAIA Volleyball National Championship last month, Friday at Manuel Garza B. Gymnasium.

The highlight of the evening came when the Grupo Folklorico Tizatlan dancers led the crowd to the line dance "Good Time" by Alan Jackson. Many of the fans joined in, including the Scorpions and UTB/TSC president Dr. Juliet V. Garcia.

The Scorpions adopted "Good Time" as their team dance during the 2011 season. During home games, the team would line dance to the song 60 minutes before starting a match, but only a handful of fans would be there early enough to watch.

At the NAIA National Championship Tournament in Sioux City, Iowa Nov. 29-Dec. 3, 2011,, the public address announcer at the Tyson Events Center played the song before the Scorpion semifinal match Dec. 3, and the Scorpions danced on the floor there.

Several members of the Scorpion team addressed the crowd and talked about their experiences at the national tournament. When a five-minute video about the championship was shown on a huge screen at the start of the celebration, several members of the team broke into tears of joy. Senior Katharina Nobel said watching the video gave her goose bumps.

Other highlights of the event included the National Anthem sung by Nestor AnDress, brother of Scorpion player Anayeli Trevino; and a performance by the UTB/TSC Drumline, which performed at numerous Scorpion volleyball games during the 2011 season.
