Fugitive: August home invasion suspect on the run

Starr County Sheriff’s Department said a man, wanted for a home invasion in August, is still on the run.

Authorities are looking for Ricardo Benitez, who invaded a home with several others in Garceno, just West of Roma.

During the home invasion, the homeowners struggled with the suspects and shots were fired.

One victims was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Two suspects from the case have been caught since then.

Benitez has five active felony warrants. Four for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one for burglary of habitation with intent to commit a felony.

Benitez is wanted by the Starr County Violent Crime Unit Task Force.
