Over one month after 17-year-old Aaron Juan Garcia went missing in Mission, police have now identified him as the person pulled from a canal over the weekend.

Mission Police Chief Martin Garza says they were able to identify the teenager with dental records and a scar on his leg from a surgery.

Police pulled the body from the north side of the canal on Los Ebanos Road and 495 on Saturday. Jan. 26.

Garcia went missing over a month ago on Dec. 6, 2012.

It is still unclear if foul play was involved. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of death.
