An argument on Thanksgiving ends with one man stabbed in the neck and another man shot and killed in Hidalgo County.

The Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office told Action 4 News the shooting stemmed from a dispute from the owner of JNE Auto Service and a man who both lived and worked there.

The business is located at the corner of Sharp Rd. and Highway 107.

Just before 7:30 pm on Thanksgiving evening deputies responded to call about a shooting off Highway 107 in the San Carlos area.

Neighbors told Action 4 News they heard three gun shots around the seven o'clock hour Thursday.

Sheriff's deputies soon arrived and found a dead man shot multiple times and another man stabbed in the neck.

Neighbors told Action 4 the tenant was recently asked to move out by the owner. When the owner came by the location Thursday night the tenant stabbed him and in his defense the owner shot the man.

The stabbing victim was taken to the hospital where he is still recovering from his injuries.

The sheriff's office is waiting to release the names of the two men until the families have been notified.

No charges have yet been filed while the case case remains under investigation.
