6 killed and 9 injured in one-vehicle crash

State troopers are investigating an overnight accident that left six people dead.

Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Sgt. Johnny Hernandez spoke to Action 4 News about the accident.

Sgt. Hernandez said that 15 people were traveling in a 1996 GMC Sierra along FM 1356, east of US 77 near Kingsville.

At around midnight, Sgt. Hernandez said the vehicle crashed, killing six of the passengers and injuring nine others.

Some of the victims are believed to be in critical condition.

DPS is still investigating the cause of the crash and the identity of the victims.

But investigators confirmed that some of the passengers were from Honduras.
