South Texas I.S.D. put its campuses in Mercedes on lockdown Tuesday afternoon.

La Villa Police told Action 4 News they tried to pull over a vehicle with two men inside, but the drive refused to stop.

A chase spanned through various cities including La Feria and Mercedes.

The campuses were placed on lockdown for about thirty minutes as a precautionary measure.

A Constable arrested one of the suspects, but his name has not been released.

A second suspect remains on the run.
