Man loses finger, another stabbed in torso at social gathering

One man had part of his finger cut off and another man was stabbed in his torso on Friday night.

Around 7:15 p.m., San Benito police responded to 290 Woodford St. in reference to the stabbing.

According to witnesses at a social gathering, two men had gotten into a fight.

During the fight one of the men's right index finger got partially cut off.

Med-Care Emergency Medical Services were at the scene to take him to Valley Baptist Medical Center.

A shor time later, the man who was suspected of cutting off the man’s finger was taken to Harlingen Medical Center because he had multiple stab wounds to his front and back torso.

He is recovering from his injuries.

According to San Benito police, both men are considered to be the only victims and suspects involved.

Their names are not being released due to pending criminal charges.
