A 9-year-old El Salvardorian girl was found wandering through the brush just south of Havana earlier Saturday afternoon.

Border patrol agents told Action 4 News they got a call about a little girl abandoned near the river.

When they went to check it out, they found her alone and scared.

She was taken to the hospital as a precaution and was processed at the Border Patrol station in McAllen.

The girl told agents she was traveling with her aunt, but for some reason the aunt abandoned the child.

Agents do not know who her parents are and she is in custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
