A Weslaco man takes decorating for the holidays very seriously.

Rey Banda is getting his display all set-up and says it will take several more days until it's complete.

Banda has a week off from work as a teacher at Progreso ISD but he's not taking a moment to rest.

He has thousands more Christmas lights to set up on and around his home on Jasmine Street.

Each year, Banda transforms the home into a winter wonderland, which he calls “Northopolis.”

But Banda is now taking his "Northopolis" idea one step further.

The Rio Grande Valley teacher is writing about it in a children's book called, “The Magical City of Northopolis, a Christmas Story.”

Whether you want to see the story in print or watch it live, Banda said anyone is welcome to be a part of his celebration of the season.
