Four women are facing criminal charges after one of them allegedly received $1,500 dollars to smuggle two children and take them to Houston.

U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested Lizeth De Leon, Herlinda Martinez, Janell Martinez and Juanita Martinez on Sunday.

The four women are accused of trying to smuggle two illegal immigrant children.

Court records released on Wednesday show the women and the drove children arrived at the Sarita checkpoint in a maroon Ford.

The women showed American birth certificates for the children but Border Patrol agents sent them to secondary inspection.

Agents learned that the boys had illegally entered the United States and that all four women knew it.

Court records show that Janell Martinez got paid $1,500 dollars via MoneyGram to take the two boys to Houston.

All four women appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Felix Recio in Brownsville on Tuesday morning.

Judge Recio denied bond for Herlinda and Janell Martinez but issued $50,000 dollar bonds for De Leon and Juanita Martinez.
