Leal Remains Raymondville Athletic Director

RAYMONDVILLE, TX -- After 31 seasons as a head football coach in the Rio Grande Valley, Alex Leal retired from coaching Friday, this after 224 wins, 16 playoff appearances, and 11 district titles at Raymondville (twice) Rio Grande City, Port Isabel, McAllen, and Harlingen South.

Leal retires as the winningest coach in RGV history, but he's not leaving Raymondville. Leal will stay on as athletic director, and lead the search for his replacement.

After making the announcement, Leal stopped by the ACTION 4 studios for a one-on-one interview where he talked about why the time was right for his retirement, and who he hopes takes over as coach of the Bearkats.
