ESPN is reporting that Rio Hondo native Roberto Garza is one of 19 Latinos playing in the NFL.

greatest athlete to come from the RGV!!

TOM LANDRY How can anyone forget the "MAN IN THE HAT" who was the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys for 29 years. Not to mention he played semi-pro Baseball in the RGV, HS football for the Mission Eagles, college ball and in the NFL for the New York Giants as well. I know the subject is about Latinos in the NFL and it has twisted to players from the RGV in the NFL. Past and Current deserves the mention here.

I know of at least six players from Rio Hondo that played on Junior and Senior College teams between 1940 and 1960. I am sure there are more.

There might be 19 Latinos in the NFL but only two of them speak Sanish and only one is from The Valley and we all know who that is.
