UTB head baseball coach Joel Barta resigned after spending only two seasons in the position.
Barta has accepted a position as the head baseball coach at Ridgewater College in Willmar, Minnesota where members of his family will be much closer to their relatives.
Outgoing coach Barta lead the Scorpions to their first playoff appearance in eight years time.
The Scorpions made their playoff debut during the Red River Conference championship games earlier this year.
The team returns with all but two players, so Barta believes they will do well but should promote from within.
Barta told Action 4 Sports that he favors giving Bryan Aughney the title as head coach.
