It was a hot time on the cold ice during a Wednesday night event at the RGV Ice Center.

Former Killer Bee Jason Cirone and his buddy Detroit Red Wings forward Darren McCarty made an appearance.

The two are just off of a Stanley Cup title but hosting a charity hockey game featuring past and present Killer Bees team members and Central Hockey League stars.

Both Cirone and McCarty ready to go in the official red wings gear.

They faced current Killer Bee Travis Banga and others on the ice.

The charity game was tight but Cirone's team won 15-14.

Cirone is now a candidate for the Bees head coaching position.

McCarty played with Cirone in Flint, Michigan before rejoining the Wing.

With four Stanley Cups under his wing, McCarty said his former teammate would be a good hire.
