San Benito soccer star signs to UTB Watch Video

Bianca De Leon of San Benito High School has signed a Red River Athletic Conference letter of intent to join the UTB/TSC women’s soccer team.

The Greyhounds midfielder is known for her attacks on the field the fourth player to sign with the Scorpions for the 2008 season.

In 2007, UTB/TSC finished 13-7, won the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament championship in women's soccer.

The Lady Scorpions qualified for the NAIA Region VI playoffs.

De Leon attended a tryout camp in April to show Scorpion head women’s soccer Nik Barjaktarevic her skills.

The San Benito Greyhound is the first women’s soccer player from San Benito to join the Scorpions.

De Leon scored 10 goals and had 16 assists for the Greyhounds.

Barjaktarevic hopes to sign additional players to the team in the coming weeks.
