The Pantherettes have started the season 18-1 with two tournament wins, their only loss is to another ranked team, so it makes sense that Weslaco would make the TABC poll.

The Harlingen Cardinals received more AP poll votes than anytime previously during the season, but not enough to get into the top ten, sitting just outside at 11th in the state in class 5A. Abilene, a team Harlingen beat in week 3 of the season, won their district over the weekend, and received 2 votes, putting the Eagles at 18th.

While the NAIA coaches polls haven't budged UT-Brownsville from the number one spot in the nation all season long, our Valley high school teams have gone up and down the Texas Girls Coaches Association state polls every week.

Harlingen received the same amount of points from the AP voters in the week eight Texas high school football poll, but rose from 14th to 13th in Class 5A nonetheless.
