In an extra-inning season finale to remember, Porter rallied from three runs down to tie Los Fresnos in the bottom of the 7th, but it was the Falcons who came up with the winning formula to take the game and the outright District 32-5A title.

The Brownsville Porter Cowgirls came into Los Fresnos with a perfect 6-0 record in District 32-5A, but left with a loss at the hands of the Falcons, now tied with Porter for 1st place in the league.

They were a team that didn't enter the Sugar N Spice football league until it was already underway. They made the championship game in San Antonio, only to have it postponed by lightning. But when the McAllen/RGV Mystics played in front of near sellout crowds in Pharr, they proved unbeatable and, in the end, won the title game by defeating the Texas Cowgirls.
